Starting issues on 01 accord
I have never had a problem getting my 01 accord to start until the other day. I tried 3 times the other day to start it with no results. Then yesterday I tried and still it would not start. It turns over fine. Then I pumped the accelerator a couple of times and it started right up and ran fine. I have never had to touch the accelerator pedal on it or on my 94 accord for them to start before. Also on the 2001 when it first starts it idles lower than it does when it reaches running temperature. I know my 94 is just the opposite. I may have the 01 accelerator cables out of adjustment. Why are there 2 cables anyway?
My guess is that it is the fuel delivery system - either the fuel pump, the fuel filter, or the fuel injectors. Try Scotty Kilmer's YouTube videos "Fixing a car that cranks but doesn't start" and "Does your car crank too long before it starts up"
The two cables, one to the pedal the other is for the cruise control.
How is the 01 coming along? Just wondering if you got all of the body work done.
