D16y5 Gen 1 Crx hf
so a year ago I bought a 1987 Crx hf that needed some work. Needs a new engine and at least first gear also. I was planning on putting a b20b p8r in it with a ys1 non lsd transmission. Well I decided to scrap that idea and go for fuel economy instead. Been bouncing around ideas of putting a d15z1 with a 1988 Crx hf transmission in, also thought about a L12a. After reading threads I think a d16y5 with be easier and cheaper and get more of the results I want, I recently moved to Knoxville from Ohio and realized I need the car to have some ***** to climb the hills around here but still getting great fuel economy. What is everyone's thoughts is this easy and what would be the best transmission to put behind it. Also this will be my first swap. I will have som help from friends but not a lot.
So I've been doing more research and believe a d15b7 trans would be a happy medium of power and gas mileage. Because Knoxville has a lot of hills and don't want to be struggling to climb every hill. Also I know I need the fuel tank out of a 87 si, and possibly the motor mounts out of a second gen? Does anyone know if they will work or not? The 96-97 ecu for the d16y8 is best since it doesn't have a immobilizer. What axles would I need?
