So this is my project, it's a 1995 Del Sol with a 1.8 swap from an Integra. Don't know anything about the motor sadly because I bought it like this but probably will build something myself for it in the future.
It clearly needs some tlc, both quarter panels and wheel wells. Plans with the car are to repair the rust and then repaint it a new color, not sure what yet though. Looking for advice on the rust though, should I try and buy new panels and eliminate a lot of the rust and fix what little is left or pay for it all to be fixed? Pictures below
Found this somehow but not sure if it's accurate, can anyone clarify? Honda Automotive Parts
You should pay someone to fix it, unless you are capable of it, then go for it.
The rust looks like it goes further than the 1/4 panel. I can't think of the name but it is visible.
Some of the rust looks like just surface rust, the rest goes further though.

Rust does continue along the side skirts, I'm probably not going to do any of the rust work myself so I just wondering if it'll be better to replace the whole panel and fix what rust is left over or should I just have it all repaired?
The left panel also looks repairable, the right one on the other hand, looks done for.
A body shop can weld a new piece of metal in there and shape it though. They would still have to remove all the rust behind the panel though.
Seeing as a shop will be doing this for you, take it to a few shops and get their opinion.
If it were me, I would cut out any rust behind the panel and replace the metal and have a new 1/4 panel put in

Okay thank you, from other places and people Ive talked with that seems like the best idea.
