Default Re installing airbags help.

I purchased my integra type R last year and it came with the jdm non srs wheel and the passenger airbag was gone as well besides the cover.

I purchased an oem leather wheel and passenger airbag and installed them but didn't plug them in.

My question is do I need to do anything before plugging in the yellow plugs? I was worried about them going off.

I just got the SRS airbag for JDM ITR DC2 Steering wheel and actually installed it like an hour ago. Unplug your negative battery connection before you install the airbag and make sure your car is completely dead. After plugging the SRS in there should be a red dot that lines up on both yellow plugs that let you know they are plugged in correctly (sorry I didn't take pics). Either way you should be okay if you didn't force it in the wrong way. Plug the negative battery terminal back in and sit on the passenger side (or stay outside like me) and just put your hand in and turn the key til you hit the second click where your radio turns on. If all goes well it should not ignite. Kinda scary but I'm okay! Good luck.

I installed both the passenger and driver airbags so I might have to lay on the floor. I think the way the plugs are you can't install them backwards.

Where did you get your igniter for the jdm srs wheel? I have a rhd integra with that wheel which I got from hmotors but they couldn't ship with the igniter/deployer

The connectors can only go in one way. Just be sure to disconnect your negative battery terminal before hooking them up. You'll be fine.

If a cars airbags were never re installed because a previous accident years ago will they go off when re installed? Does the srs box need reset by the factory?

Disconnect batter and discharge any static electricity on yourself. Nothing happened to me before but hey, safe than sorry.

I actually got the SRS airbag with igniter intact from HMO (H Motors Online) earlier this week. I specifically asked them for the airbag with igniter still on it. Maybe because I picked it up in person they were able to give it to me as-is without removing the igniter. Perhaps shipping may cause the SRS to explode since it might get tossed around during delivery.

My SRS light still stays on so I'm not sure if I just need to reset the error code. I even removed the negative battery terminal for at least 15 minutes after successful install and test but the light still displayed when I started her up. Is it safe to just remove the code using an OBD2 reader?
