Bad engine?
Just bought an 04 accord from my brother, his timing chain went out supposedly. From what I know it was acting like it was bogging down one day on the way to a store, and when they came out of the store it wouldn't start. Currently It turns over, I guess the tow guy tried several times as he wanted to drive it up onto the truck... this was a month ago. They had it diagnosed without opening up the engine they said it was the timing belt. I turned it over once and quick when I picked it up the other day and almost wanted to start. What are the odds the engine is still good? Would you replace just the timing belt, or just do the entire engine? Is there an easy way to inspect and figure out if the engine is still good? The car has 215000 miles on it. Thanks for any and all help!
