Hello all I am new to building Honda products. I am old school Chevy guy so this is all new to me. My son dragged my kicking and screaming into a 1991 Civic hatchback project. But now I am here so here is the plan. I am going to put a either a B18b1 or a B18a1 into the car depending on which block is in better condition. Any tips or tricks would be much appreciated.

 

Cool. Welcome, and I feel new as well sometimes, planning on buying an 89 and using the SOHC. Do you already have a head? Or are you buying the whole motor?

I came across 2 compete engines so I am going to pull head check it out and then stuff it in the 91. The other I think I am going to build. I am hesataint to build because my son is 16 and if I give him too much HP.....

Yeah, it's just using it responsibly I guess. I'm still here, and had B18c1 in my first car.
