TACH AND RPM not working. NEW BUILD. NEED HELP!
Ok guys here goes another thread for some input and help that I need. The RPM's aren't working on my car anymore. I've gone over this before on another thread and want to know if I should change the distributor because it's an obd2 distribuotr with an obd1 block.
Obd2 MSD distributor has no crank sensor
obd1 block has no crank sensor
I'm using hondata s300 on obd1
2000 integra all obd2 except block and s300 of course.
Could this be causing the issue?

the "crank" sensor on the block is called the CKF and it only is used to compare crank angle to the crank angle extrapolated from the crank position sensor in the distributor. have you tried a honda
distributor>?
distributor>?
its possible. If you know someone else with a distributor that will bolt up test and see. i havent really seen how a the msd one actually offers anything significant over the stock unit.
Me neither but it came with the car so I just left it there.
So so not having a crank sensor on the block and the distributor being obd2 doesn't really matter?

The tach is driven off the ICM in the distributor, test the blue lead out of the distributor assembly for A/C power that should rise and fall with the engine RPM, f good at the distributor also check that lead at the cluster plug, if good there replace the tach. 94
Ok will do. The blue lead coming out of the distributor is power from distributor to tach, correct? Meaning if there's no power then I have to change the distributor..?
It is an A/C voltage signal, [use a multimeter set to A/C voltage to test] that will change up and down with engine RPM if nothing there make sure blue lead is plugged properly into the ICM.
The ICM is inside the distributor, if it is plugged in properly you will need to replace it, [the ICM] the tach drive in the ICM is not working. 94
