G7 Accord~~Could use some words from the wise with steering column joint cover.
I have a 2003 honda accord ex coupe-V6 with an auto transmission.
I noticed that the steering column joint cover is missing on the inside and outside of the firewall and without it, causes a lot of engine noise to come in and while driving in the rain I can periodically feel little droplets of water splashing on my legs. I have found the replacement part but the dealership told me that to install it, they have to remove the entire steering column just to install the joint cover which would've cost an arm and two legs.
I was wondering if there was anyway to install the joint cover without having to remove the entire steering column. I have a small diagram of how it fits and the parts are cheap. The parts in question are #2 and #3. Thanks in advance for any help!
