Soooooooooo get this ****.... I was leavin for work today and i noticed the usual small creaks from the suspension but it was followed w/ the noise you'd hear from dropping say a m&m n a coffee can. So i turned around and took it into the garage and got underneath, you're not gonna believe this@!!!
The shock collapsed, loosing all the hyraulic fluid, meaning that the spring(driverside, rear) was taking all the abuse... The arm that connects the wheel (not the axle) to the frame was ALMOST completely cracked free. I shook the car and the car moves but the arm/wheel assy. stays in place. Good times huh??? Soooooo time to get the wire feeder out again.............WTF, car looks so good from outside, get underneath the thing and its true 15 year old frame really looks 40 years old i'm so pissed, i am driving a minivan now till i get it fixed, i was gonna go w/ some .93 mild steel anyone a welder have any good suggestions, i obviously have to take off the gas tank, and i took out the carpet and spare tire, and the wholes all the way through the car, (quarter size) so i can fix it from the top is this a good idea !!! Lemme know

 

is the lower control arm what cracked? or the trailing arm? if it was either, just replace them and don't weld it.

 

Well my old 87 CRX si's front drivers side torsion bar cracked in half leaving my car sitting on the oil pan in the Wal-Mart parking lot

Must be something with the old 87's just breaking in half
