Default 93 ex f23a1 auto swap questions

Hey guys what's up, working on a 93 ex automatic coupe I picked up. The car came with an f23a1 swapped in it, seems to run ok until you try to rev it out. Currently it's using the stock pt6 f22a6 Ecu, and I want to get vtec working. I know how to do the wiring, but where I'm having trouble is with the auto trans part. I picked up a p0a Ecu from an automatic ex sedan, aside from swapping pins a6 and a11 will it plug right in and run the trans fine? I know the accord trannies have their own tcu but when I took out the p0a I noticed there were several wires that ran to the tcu.

Other question I have is I can use the f23 dizzy if I do an internal coil conversion right? Currently it's using the f22a6 dizzy which seems to work but it's 180 off so two of the plug wires are a bit tight.

thanks in advance!

I'm old and slow, so the "p0a" means nothing to me, I'll guess that is from a 94-95 EX Accord auto trans?

IF you go with the F23 dist, there are some wires and sensors that will need to be "solved".....and then you lose any timing adjustment from the dist, which I'm sure will introduce more issues than you want to mess with.

TCU communicates with the ECU for proper AT shift commands, it also monitors TPS(when to shift), Thermo(when it can upshift/cold driving), ignition timing(when to shift), and the FAS wire(communication) from the ECU. Transmission control is greatly affected by engine running condition. TCU needs to know what the engine is actually doing to properly perform in an automatic setting.
TCU, like the ECU, will have programed points. In the case with a TCU it will be shift points at a given load, rpm, and/or speed. Although the TCU from the CB may work fine, a TCU from a B1(POA) car may have shift points that are more appropriate for the VTEC engine. Don't want VTEC to try to activate just as an upshift occurs, that may foul intake air velocity which may cause a bog like feeling during/after an upshift. Unless you are doing your own tuning, but AFAIK no one has tuned a POA, let alone an AT POA.

F23 is OBDII and does not have the needed crank/tdc sensors.

94/95 EX OBDI F22B1 VTEC distributor does. Avoid 96/97 as those are OBDII will be similar to the F23 and will be lacking the crank/tdc sensors.

IMO, when installing a SOHC VTEC engine into a CB Accord the easiest thing to do would be to use the 94/95 EX harness, distributor and ECU/TCU with the F22B1/F23A1/F23A4

When engine swapping with Hondas, you want to swap everything not just the engine. Or at the very least components that are close to the engine(F22B1 bits on the F23A1/4 in an OBDI application) to allow a swap into a different chassis.
