Default 98 civic to 88 crx suspension swap?

I have a 98 civic with skunk pro series coil overs and want to swap them on my 88 DX crx. I know the front coil over will work as long as I use the 98 civic wishbone. Yet I was told the ek rear lower control arm is longer then EF lower control arm, is this true? I want to use the ek rear coil overs yet was told the 88 crx has itr style lower control arms. I also have skunk pro series front camber kit, rear camber kit, and skunk rear lower control arms on the 98 civic. What can I swap on the crx for compatibility? I'm thinking I'll have to buy a aftermarket billet rear lower control arms for the crx, or maybe modify the stock 88 crx lcas for the rear. Any advice or knowledge of compatibility will help. Most info I've searched leaves out the 96 to 2000 civic suspension... Thanks for your help.

88 crx has boxed control arms int he rear like the integra type r later used. also the length of the control arms is shorter as it is the same as EG/DC

On your 98, where the dampers attach to the lcas at the bushing, are there spacers/washers between the fork and bushings (I think Skunk2 does this)? If so, you can use them on the CRX lcas. If not, they are 96-00 specific. I've heard that you can swap the bushing in the lca but have never had to confirm that.

For your rear lcas, you need any that are from an 89-95 Civic or 90-2001 Integra. Most of the aftermarket ones are junk, oem is your best bet.

Your front camber arms will not transfer over.

Confirmed. The outer diameter of EG/DC2 and EK rear lower shock bushings are the same.

Thanks Phun.

note when ordering though, EG and DC bushings do not necessarily have the same OD as each other. I got caught out on that when ordering bushings for Del Sol vtec arms, thinking they would take Integra bushings but they took the smaller Civic ones.

I installed the front skunk pro series coilvers and front wish bones from the 98 civic to the crx and the results were awesome. I've heard plenty of horror stories of the ebay aluminum rear lcas bushings cracking/failing from other HT members yet wanted to give it a try. I ordered a pair of the Emusa rear lcas on ebay which look identical to my skunk2 rear lcas on my 98 civic which I've never had problems with the bushings failing. I've read other post that the Emusa and Skunk lcas are actually the exact same product and hope I have good luck with them. The purpose of this post is now to relieve this topic of misinformation based on my own experiences. Ive read the rear shackle of the 96-2000 civic suspension will work on 89-91 4th gen civics without modification and also searched finding that the width of the shackle is too narrow and may need to be grinded to fit over the rear lcas. Once my Emusa lcas show up in the mail I'll post my results of installation and compatibility, and in the long term give my feedback if the busings on the Emusa Lcas fail. If anyone else has installed 96-2000 civic on a 4th gen I'd like to hear your experience and would like to thank others for reading this thread.
