Hey I want to get my car painted, i was wondering what u guys thought of Maaco paint jobs. I'm thinking of guys wit them b/c they r pretty good on price. Not looking to spend more than $1000, anybody know of any cheaper places in the NYC area.

 

MAACO is run as franchise so it will vary according to location and manager. Some places are utter crap and some actually do a decent job. Paint quality also matters. From what I understand doing the prep work yourself also makes a huge difference. Do some research and if you find that you still want to get it done at maaco then look for the best one in your area.

 

if you want to get a paint job that will last a couple of weeks and then chip and crack......then go to macco. if not then save up a lill longer and plan to spend at least 1500-2000 on a quality paint job that will last years.

 

If you let them do all the work, Maaco sucks.
If you prep and let them paint and tell how much coats you want, Maaco is ok (depends on your local Maaco), but they usually make oversprays.
If you're not spending over $1,000 on a good paint job, you get what you pay for!
