I think the Exige is the US LHD model? Its not street legal however.

The Exige is a race version of the Elise. It has to be modified to be street legal in the US. Lotus does not import their cars right now. It has a slightly more pwoerful engine and an even lighter body, and of course dynamics. go to topgear.com or lotus.co.uk

Exige is a coupe, where Elise is a convertible.
Exige also has some improvements and changes over the Elise. It is based off the Motorsports Elise

Throw a DC5 R drivetrain in there and you've got the ultimate track whoremobile...

I wonder if this guy will consider a trade? I've got a spare kidney and a spare nut I'd be willing to part with

It's a 2000, so I'm sure the original owner has already gone through a couple set of tires by now.

You're thinking of the Elise convertible that is modified by Sun Motorsports to be US legal. Stock Elise's have like...120 horsepower/120 torque. Sticking the B18C5 into that makes a big difference.

The Exige has 192/146...hmmm...maybe I was wrong...stock JDM C5 has 210/134.

I don't know which would be better.

I would say that the money it would cost to put the C5 in it would probably be better spend just modding the engine that's in it.

Yeah thats a nice car, I use it in Gran Turismo 3 sometimes it hauls *** with like 300hp with a weight of only like 1500lbs. I wouldn't mind having one but who wouldn't.

..here in La Jolla has/had one for sale for quite some time, last I inquired they were asking $65K. They've also got a f310b, a porsche 962c, etc., pretty impressive inventory.

Does this Lotus come with fiberglass body?

I'm trying to buy a '70 Lotus Europa Twin-Cam from a buddy at work. Any of you seen this car? It's gorgeous.

We actually worked on his Lotus all day today.

wow, I had no idea the Exige engine made that kind of power. I assumed it was just as anemic as the Elise engine. Just makes me want one even more...just gorgeous and so purposeful...
