Best Brake Fluid and Pads??
I plan on doing some auto-x, but most of my driving is done on the freeway.
I plan on buying from cobalt's site..Here is what I was considering. ATE super blue fluid and Hawk Black pads??
Anyone know if this would work out for me?
Thanks

Hawk Black pads might be overkill. You can also find a cheaper fluid that will do the job you ask just as well in Valvoline 'Synpower' synthetic. Hawk HP+ or Panther Plus should be a little more suitable. Reason being, you dont have anytime to warm up pads such as Hawk Blacks at autocross before you run.
Corey would be able to give you a better insight on this because he's got way more experience than me and knows his shizzle.

Hey man, whats up.. for what you want to do, I would get the Axxis Ultimates, very good price for the money, and arn't corrosive like Hawk pads, and much cheaper, and more streetable.. They work awesome for autox applications.. About fluid, I use the Cobalt brand fluid, can't remember the name of it.. But that is for track driving, for autox the Valvoline Syntech stuff that wontbebeat suggested will work just fine..
I thought it was only Hawk blues that were corrosive...are there other models that are also? The normal Panthers (non-plus) can also be corrosive if left on too long.
Hawk blue and Carbotech panther pads' dust can eat away wheel and car paint/finishes if left on too long, so they need prompt washing (blue's more so than panthers). i didn't know any of the other hawk line had this issue tho.

Ppl I know and spoke to have given rave reviews to Project Mu Titan Kai and Endless CCX pads. The CCM pads seem better almost all around on paper than the CCX's, so I wonder if those would be an even better choice.
Corey, I just emailed Andie for the Axxis Ultimates, he originally quoted me for the Hawk Black pads, but I think they are too aggressive like you are all saying.
One more ? Should I just run the Axxis Ultimates on my stock rotors?? Or do I need to have them turned (they are not brand new). Also I have heard of some way to make sure your pads "seat" properly, and something about "scuffing" them....damn I'm a noob
Will this be necessary w/this pad, can anyone explain how to do this if I need to, or point me in the right direction.
Thanks.

Just a clarification...the original inquiry that was received via e-mail was specifically for the Hawk Black, but given the type of driving being done, we went with the Axxis Ultimate instead.
The Hawk Black is a good road-racing compound for light vehicles (e.g. Miata, Civic HB), as well as auto-x on heavy cars, but for any amount of street driving, it really isn't recommended.

Nissin pads are similar to stock (if they arent actually the same exact pad Honda uses as their OEM pad). I'd compare them to Hawk HPS maybe.
So how much are Axxis Ultimates?

Hawk HPS are an entry level pad comparable to or slightly better than OEM.
freeway driving. If not HPS (High Performance Street), then HP+ which is for more serious auto-xing.
The other compounds Hawk has (black, blue ) are older compounds that have been around for years. The HT- compounds are also not for street use
