Default Juancito's boosted 1730cc EG6 build thread from Argentina

Juan, a good friend that I knew like two years ago was owner of a super clean EJ8 Civic. He had the idea of boosting the D16y8, using a not-so-big turbo, the enough thing to reach ~250WHP or so. He bought almost anything to boost his car, but then...

Facundo, an old good friend was selling his EG6 Civic because he was leaving Argentina to travel around the world. B16A block, darton mid sleeves, CP pistons, Master Power R545 turbo, Eagle rods, Gas and E85 doing 360WHP... So I put in contact Juan and Facundo and one week later, Juan was driving his new turbo EG6 Civic hahaha

We were getting a great night racing with our friends

But suddenly a plank plank plank shitty noise...

Looks like the piston to sleeve clearance was too small )-: Engine lasted 1500km (or 930 miles)

So, let's get some fun!

The car had TERRIBLE electric problems, we found 3 alarm systems, one GPS tracker alarm, 8 relays and a dozen of cables flying over there, also the ABS system didn't work. So we part out every electric system of the car, almost everything, lights, commands, engine, everything.

Cables you say?

I love parting out

That black plastic bag is full of cables.

Mariano painting the engine bay. Selected color looks like *** :D

Mariano did a great painting job!

Interior part out, look at those wild cables hahahah

Engine build:

Sleeves were bored to 84.5mm, so the displacement now is ~1730cc, we've used IASA forged pistons (Made in Argentina).

Engine in!

Mounting turbo, wires, hoses

I've made the electronics. We made some calcs, Hondata S300 + P28 + CPR + Injector driver ~ 1400 USD, that plus shipping to Argentina, plus custom taxes (50% declared value) = too expensive. So I installed a Megasquirt 2 with the simple mods to get everything running. Also used CKP and CYP to full sync the Megasquirt and get COP and secuential fuel.

I wired everything

I need to say I'm very proud of my work haha

We've cranked it last sunday and it started at the first attempt!

Now we need to finish the wiring, put everything on the interior, and go for a few hour street tuning :D

I'll keep you updated guys!

Yesterday's night we sorted out ignition timing and fuel tables. I've made a mistake, setted up vtec BELOW 5000RPM. So vtec was engaging/disengaging every time when the engine was idling near 1000-1200 RPM, valve train made horrible sounds hhahahaha

First ride! Almost everything went good! PS pump was broken, now it works pretty fine, engine sounds good! Now dealing with the ICM, seems like is going to die soon haha
