Default 98 Honda Accord Valve Cover bolt

I noticed while changing the oil on my 98 Honda Accord EX yesterday that one of the 5 bolts that holds the valve cover in place (on the top right) was loose and the thread was broken. I tried screwing it back in and it didn't work so I bought a new OEM bolt and grommet. Could the broken thread be somewhere inside engine and will I have trouble replacing the bolt?

If the bolt was over tightened and broke the threaded portion into the head, that part will need to be removed from the head before installing the new bolt. Which will require removal of the valve cover to gain access to the broken portion. A small punch and a hammer can be used to gently tap/unscrew the broken piece out. Or if you are really luck the threaded part is under no tension and can simple be unscrewed by using something to grab the broken end. Possibly even your finger tip.

OK thanks I'll try using a coat hanger when I get the rubber grommet on Tuesday.
