Default h23a dohc vtec head on h23a1 block

Okay so I've been looking and looking and looking reading thread after thread nobody seems to have anything anywhere on this. I have a 95 honda prelude se with h23a1 engine it jumped timing and smoked the valves so I went and found a h23a blue top dohc vtec head and I want to know what do I have to do to get this head to work with my block. Please I'm looking for real help I'm sick of reading a bunch of bull so if u have real knowledge I'm ready to read. Thank you

Same thing as using an H22 head on there, so if you find the threads in the faqs or search, for that h23/22 frankenstein all of the info applies.

Yep - what he said ^^^^ swap is identical to having a h22 head.

You can just remove the oil plug in the block, then put the H22 right on there.
The only thing is that you will lose compression if you do not change the pistons from the H23a1 to the H22 stock pistons, so its not as simple as removing the head and then then replacing with a vtec H22 head.

Read up on the FAQ thread and you will see.
