Default New engine from japan

So I just got this new engine from Japan my car is a 98 ex civic automatic... the computer in it is a p2p so I'm just wanting to make sure this will work I got it from a place out here called Vegas jdm I asked for a d16y8 engine they got it here when I wasn't home so I was not able to ask so I'm turning to the techs on here so the engine is a d16a and the code on the head is a p2j-1 so my question is if it's going to work with my computer...

Frankenstein engine

Hard to know whether you have the VTEC or VTEC-E head.

You cannot see the stages.

You feel them.

You live them.

You become them.

All three of them.

PS- Engine is from a 96, not a 98.

***** sakes, engine importers usually have the common decency to pressure wash their engines before lying to you about the age and mileage.

I really don't think you know what the engine you have, except that it's frankenstein's monster.

Looks nice.

Please share the information that convinced you that the head matches to the computer.

The head is the most critical component with respect to the ECU. The head could be VTEC or VTEC-E, which are very different.

This^ puts you right back where you are now because it also requires that you know what head you have.

Why haven't you pulled the valve cover and posted a bunch of pictures?

You need to do better planning, ask more questions, and request more documentation before you buy an engine.

You'll get tired of being the sucker.
