The top box is the air intake solenoid. The bottom appears to be the vacuum control box. Without knowing exactly what kind of car it is or what engine it is, it's hard to know for sure.
You can remove the intake resonator chamber box but you MUST leave the solenoid screwed to it and plugged in to avoid the ECU throwing a code for it. The device on the firewall is part of the EGR system... again, if you remove it... you will get EGR related codes. Now, if you convert back to an OBD-1 ECU and add a tunable solution, neither device would be necessary and both could be removed.
I'm boosted, and have hondata s300 with a p28 ecu.... so yea... I'm trying to get rid of abs, and clean up the engine bay of ever every thing I don't need. But thank you.!
