How long before you had to get a new dizzy/rebuild your original? The TEC dizzy on my 2000 civic lasted 161k before I rebuilt it to change the inner seal, and I ended up stripping one of the inner screws (they were cemented on there) so when I put it back together it didn't work. Want to know if 161k is good miles for a dizzy or not so I can feel a little less bad about ruining my old one lol.

There is no set mileage it will go out at. My high mileage cars that see regular maintenance items are still on the original, one is at 242k and my old black one is still working fine at 315 miles according to its new owner

161K is fine. They can last a longer or shorter time as well, like chrysler mentioned.

oem quality is still the ****. I even go junkyard hopping for 1 spare everytime I buy a used car, I'd just get the specific one for it. Just gotta make sure everything is good, no rust, no damaged wires (because junkyarders don't care for perfection).

They usually last 300k. It's very uncommon for Honda distributors to go bad because Honda is GOAT.

This is the only one I've ever had to replace. It only failed because the previous owner did not notice the cap he put on it years ago was missing the gasket. So everything inside rusted. I might have been able to clean everything up and just replace the ignition control module but it was less of a money gamble just to pay $200 for a new one

Where do you find new distributors @ $200? Anything that looks half-way reputable seems to start ~$295 and up...

Amazon Prime

No joke, $75.00, two day shipping.

I've ordered dozens of em since 2011, haven't had a failure yet. (In 2011, they were $115, but price goes down every few months).

Mine was $220 or something before my discount at autozone. It was duralast gold for a 1997 civic lx. Wish I would have done amazon but I wanted the car running asap. Thanks for the heads up on amazon

Different vendors each time, but all have TD part numbers. My last order was from motor king.
