Honda Accord 2000 ECM issue?
I have Honda Accord 2000 LX 4 door 4CL and it stalled few times while driving and then it wont restart, after I left the car for few hours it restarted as if nothing was wrong. I replaced ignition twice, it worked for few day and then the problem came back. The car starts and runs and can go from point A to B, but as soon as I turn off the ignition and try to restart, it wont restart, it will restart eventually but after leaving it for few hours. There is no engine light but intermittently brake light turns on even though brakes were recently replaced , maybe it is part of the ECM issue. A Honda expert told me it could be ECM because he failed to detect any signal from the computer. Is it really ECM for sure or it could be something else. I would greatly appreciate any kind of help/advise.
PS: I have replaced ignition switch twice and I don't think it is ignition. Could it be crankshaft censor"

We need to know if the engine is actually cranking or not. There is no indication whether it is cranking.
If it is not even cranking after stopping the car and restarting, I have found an aftermarket alarm, specifically the Viper, to have a tendency of malfunctioning after being driven and the disable function of the alarm to prevent the car from starting.

Thank you for replying to my message. Yes, the engine cranks all the time. It won't re-start for few hours or an hour or so. Surprisingly yesterday, the car restarted after I left it for over 15 minutes after the initial start. It is so hard to find consistency in it's problems. Before I changed the ignition (for the second time) the car would intermittently stall. At least now (after I changed the ignition for the second) the car hasn't stalled while driving. So far, it just doesn't restart after you start and turn off the ignition. But you never know, maybe today it will start to behave the same way (stalling while driving). I don't know what to do with this piece of crap. I am so frustrated!!
It sounds like the fuel injectors are old and dripping to me. When the engine is cold it needs extra fuel to start, but when it is warm, the extra fuel causes it to flood out. Watch Scotty Kilmer's YouTube video "How to clean fuel injectors on your car" If that's not it, he's got tons of other DIY videos on cars that might help - fixing a car that dies randomly on the road, fixing a car that cranks but don't start up, etc.
Just now today, when I tried to start the car, it won't start, I kept cranking it but the engine won't start. Also, when I turn the ignition on all the way, I can see all the lights (such as oil, battery, brakes etc) but I don't see "check engine" light. Do you think it could be bad ECM? Or it could be crankshaft sensor? Please help!
Thank you.
Thank you.
If the CEL is not illuminating, verify the lamp has not blown out or been removed. Check for any stored codes via the OBDII port with a code reader. It could be one of the crank sensors is no longer functioning.

Thank you MM. BTW! I like your profile pic. haha!
Obviously, I know nothing about cars. Where can I take this car to get it checked up. I am not sure if it is derivable now.

BTW! Today the weather was extremely hot and humid and the car didn't start but just now few minutes ago (around 10:25PM) I was able to start the car but I didn't try to turn off and restart it. It seems to me it is some sensor.
It is probably a 'thermal failure' a part gets too heat soaked and a wiring connection inside fails. I would not be surprised if the CEL was burnt out due to a hard fault.
Outside of California, most chain stores may let you borrow or 'rent' a scanner to check for any codes, active or stored.

Turn the ignition switch to the on position without starting. The check engine light should come on for 2 seconds then off. During that two seconds, you should hear the sound of the fuel pump running. If the check engine light doesn't come on then that circuit needs to be checked at the PCM. If the fuel pump doesn't come on then it could be the fuel pump relay or the relay isn't getting grounded by the PCM. In my case, I found the pump relay was only intermittently getting grounded by the PCM because one nut on a ground circuit to the PCM was not resnugged after a repair was done in the engine compartment.
