Power dip
I have a 96 jdm itr swap. from around 4-5.5k, and sometimes from 3k up to 6k rpm there is a power dip. Car has stock airbox and POS DC header ( not he DC JDM ). Its running the stock jdm ecu. What could this be from? Distributor or ignition?
Also at night when my headlights are on, the headlights get bright then dim back down depending on the rpms. Sometimes when I rev they dim a bit then come back, or sometimes when i shift they dim, and as I accelerate at the rpms rise it comes back. Possibly the alternator?? Could this have anything to do with the power dip?

they prolly gave you a P72 gsr ecu with the swap, this will switch vtec at 4400 rpm instead of 5500 for the P73 ecu.
your lights go dim because you battery probably needs trickle charging.

I think thats the vtec engagement point...when I dynoed my car last summer I noticed a slight dip in power too...it coincided with the vtec engagement point
