Default 2008 Civic EX: Wiring harness question / CEL P0983

Hi all,

I've got a 2008 Civic EX sedan (A/T) that just recently threw a CEL P0983: Shift Solenoid D Control Circuit High.
I got the CEL when driving down to the bowling alley, and quickly realized I lost Reverse gear when trying to back into a space in the parking lot.
What I mean by "lost", when I shift into Reverse the car doesn't feel like it shifted into a gear, and when I hit the gas the car just revs.
The D4 Drive gear worked well on the ride home, shifted as normal and had no issues.

Once home, and after doing some searching, I checked the 8-Pin wiring harness first that goes into the transmission case, to find one of the wires separated.
My question is: what options do I have in terms of getting this repaired? Looking at hondaautomotiveparts.com, it doesn't look like they sell portions of the harness, so it'd have to be an entirely new $300 engine harness?
If there are options that don't include buying an entirely new harness, what are? What price would I expect from a shop to get this fixed?

Thanks

Least expensive and quickest fix, would be to de-pin the connector terminal. Then splice a piece of new wiring with a new terminal to the existing wire.

See example B in this link:Honda Terminal Replacement Procedure

Agreed doing a re-pin would be the cheapest option and maybe the best one since you wouldn't have to swap out the old/new harness.
