Ok here's the story, before i even lowered my car, when it was totally stock i was driving at night and didnt see these 2 BIG dips in the street. I hit them, HARD. Pulled over, checked out the bottom of the car n nothing seemed wrong. Then i noticed rattling under the car, i could feel it on the floor of my car and feel it through my steering wheel, as well as hear it. Its not rattling constantly, it only rattles when the road is uneven or bumpy... i jacked up the front of the car n checked everything n it all seemed fine, hit things with my hand n didnt seem to find anything loose. I was just wondering if anyone here has this problem, could it be something in my rack and pinion perhaps? Im stumped...

 

to check your rack. jack the car up, grab the tierods and wiggle (tech term!). i have a slop in the inner tie rod, and it knocks when i run over rough road. i can definetly hear the knock when i move the left tierod up and down. good luck

Ahh yes, now that you say that, i do remember my brother telling me he was knocking around there when it first happened and it was possible that was the cause. If so, is there any way to fix that or do i have to replace the whole friggin rack and pinion ? Thanks for the help! This is driving me nuts!

both the inner and out tie rods are replacable, as well as the tierod end bushing. but in the case of failed bushing i'd suggest replacing the rack, pick it up from the wreckers for 40 dollars. replace the mounting bushings with polyurethane as well.
