Default Alright now, I've just about had it with my cars

LOL! So this has been a bad few says with my vehicles. Last Thursday my 07 Tahoe decides to finally have a sticky left front caliper while trying to leave a stoplight. I freed it up myself by removing the caliper, but brought it to the dealer for them to truly diagnose it, and guess what, can't find anything wrong, since the issue is not there, I almost spent $1200 for them to just replace front calipers and flex brake lines, but since they didn't have the parts, I opted not to. Then comes Saturday, and now my Tahoe gets a hard 1-2 shift from the transmission! WTF! So now I'm feeling like the dealer did something else to my car to get more money from me. After stopping for lunch that day the hard shifts hasn't returned but Im still getting it looked into.

So I've been having a starting issue in my R, I thought it was the battery, got a new battery, still had the starting issue. I traced it back to the starter or so i thought. The next day after installing the battery car has been starting fine, I had already ordered a new reman'd starter which is on back order, this was like almost a month ago i ordrered the starter, and during the month car had no starting issues at all. So today I go ahead and cancel the order on the starter, and what happens when I left work today? The dag gone starting issue shows its ugly head! WTF! And then to top it off, while driving home from work today, my exhaust b-pipe freaking broke from it being so badly rusted! When the pipe broke it scared the hell out of me b/c it just suddenly got so damn loud in the car and car was vibrating all over, lol. The exhaust is an Apex-i world sport. I don't think I'll be ordering another Apexi exhaust, its only about 6 years old, and car is driven in winter time when it snows, but come on! lol!

So now im on the hunt for a stock ITR exhaust, I gave away the stock one when I had the current apex-i one put one, what a bonehead move! and just for my info, will a stock JDM DC2 ITR exhaust fit my USDM DC2 R?

If you know of any place where I can possibly find a replacement in the Northern VA area or Hampton Roads area, please let me know!

Thanks in advance!

Stock jdm is different length than usdm. If you get a whole new jdm system including header and back then of course it fits. Otherwise the jdm b pipe is a few inches longer than usdm b pipe because the jdm cat is shorter. So you can get jdm b pipe but you'd have customize it. Unless you're apexi system was already jdm length then you're good.

The Apex'i WS is a $700 mild steel (!!!!!!!!!!!) exhaust. For an Integra. They do sound nice, but the fitment/look for integra coupes is a bit wack.

The OEM is stainless steel, fits nicer, and is the same diameter as the WS.

Get a JDM catback and just have it slightly modded to fit your USDM cat.

I believe you can still buy a USDM exhaust from Acura, though.

Thanks for your input! I checked and it seems that you can still order a new Honda OEM exhaust, but the OEM Type R exhaust tip isn't available any more, so it will look a bit off with out the signature Type R tip, which maybe I could find online somewhere used.

If you really want an ITR muffler, you can it brand new. I bought this and it came just as described, and with gasket.: Honda OEM Integra 2 Door Type R Muffler (Brand New) | Password JDM

Wow $380? On bernardiparts site, same part number is $242.83, but doesnt come with the Type R exhaust tip, at least I dont think it does. When it arrived everything that is pictured in your link was how it looked? Let me see if they have the mid pipe...Thanks for the link!

I just priced the shipping for the b-pipe and muffler from passwordjdm, and the shipping is almost $280, lol. But the part numbers match with what Im finding on bernardiparts, but I wonder why passwordjdm's muffler comes with the exhaust tip, bc I dont think if I order the muffler from bernardiparts, that it will come with the exhaust tip.

Ebay has listings for $300 shipped JDM catbacks. B pipe, muffler, tip.

The one I saw was in good looking shape.

It depends if you want/need brand new (prob don't need it) or can just get used. It's kinda tricky to find a muffler that's not dented or damaged.

A shop close to me (LHT Performance) makes custom exhaust and has made the tips look a lot like the factory ITRs exhaust tips.

Exhaust

Maybe they could make you one and mail it to you.

Just trying to give you some options.

I'm pretty sure the exhaust tip is part of the exhaust as it's welded on and not bolted on like the gsr/ls/gs

I searched ebay, and couldn't find an entire exhaust, it was mostly JDM mufflers. If you got links pls post them, thx!

If I could find a good used one that would be my preference, but if I have to get a brand new one its not a big deal. It all depends, I kinda want to get rid of the car, but then I kinda dont? lol

The pics of their work are nice, super clean looking! I might have to call them up for pricing. Thanks for the link!

Thanks for the confirmation, that what I was thinking but the exploded view of the parts on acura oem parts, was throwing me off. It showed a separate call out number for the tip.

It's not worth the dollar in my opinion.

I'd probably just go with a brand new, stock system. Unless you're willing to spend the money on a Spoon B-Pipe & N1.

Other brands to look at are Tanabe, J's Racing, Fujitsubo, Yonaka. I'm sure there are other brands I've missed off that little list but you'll be hard pressed to find something in good condition or at a sensible price.

Thanks for your input Tom. I am leaning towards just buying a new OEM system. UNLESS, I find the deal of century on a gently used stock exhaust, which I doubt I will find, lol

I think the Tanabe is a fully stainless steel system (??).

Its like the WS in design. They're readily available from vendors that have no issues with shipping.

I feel like the Tanabe exhausts are too loud for my taste. But the one I installed on my friends GSR was a tanabe and was too loud, i forget which model it was. But if their full stainless, that might help me make a decision. I also don't want any attention from 5-0, which is why i either want a stock exhaust or go back to the Apexi WS Noir, but the apexi will just rust out again, lol.

Is it really stainless steel? Wow. I thought it was the same material as all other integra exhaust.

It suppose to have the tip welded on, if it didn't come with the tip than its not a type r. I know for sure the USDM type r has the tip welded on.
