Default 96 accord lx

Hi everyone.I have a 1996 Honda accord lx f22b2 automatic. It used to drive fine without any problems until my alternator went out and I had it replaced. It started but not for long. Then I had a mechanic tell me my starter was bad and I had that replaced.I went to try to start it and it tried to turn over so I had to get a jump.Everything turns on and primes but when it finally turned over it started idling at 5000rpm and it makes a loud knocking noise from the motor.I'm afraid to let run any longer than a few minutes.Do anyone know what it could be?It's my only way back and forth to work.I just need to know if it is a simple fix before I spend money on another engine.

I'm wondering if something may have shorted out and fried the ecu? try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it.
