Quick question: 00 GSR ecu works in 99 GSR??

Quick question: 00 GSR ecu works in 99 GSR??
i believe it does work, however i remember something about a immobilizer being on there. well the car the 2000 GSR ecu will be a 1999 GSR. So will it work? i need to be sure. thanks
