Default 95 del sol - headlight switch broken off

my 95 del sol came with the headlight switch broken off. i cleaned the terminals inside it and everything works good, i have enough of the **** to bump up and down for the signals to work and i believe it bumps out for high beams too? but the stick itself broke off so i cannot operate the twisty **** for the lights, i dont even know what that **** operates exactly, lights hi low and off?. i saw the terminals that the **** operates, by sliding them.. it still moves and works fine but since the **** broke off, can i wire a 3 way switch or somthing instead to operate what the twisty **** operates?

Visit a junkyard or eBay to find a replacement.

Soooooo... let me get this straight. You are asking this community if a bunk, ghetto-fabulous MacGyver style fix is the right thing to do ??? Since it appears that the part number is discontinued from Honda, RonJ's suggestion is likely your best course of action. It will be important to get one for the same trim level as your car... S, Si, or Si VTEC.

Put some effort into fixing it correctly and it will serve you well for many years to come.

I'll even Google it for you.

Here are some eBay search results:

i dont want to have to buy the whole column again for 80.. i need brakes more then this lol. this is mine broke off.. https://imgur.com/a/wjpu5

i can glue a stick onto that so i can work my turn signals and id have to wire a switch for the headlights

edit: i want to either overide the ***** controlls or just rewire the headlights at the source *which i dont want to do*

it just seems like a waste because my switch is litterally perfect i even stuck a screw in there and that was working but it fell out

Again? Not sure what you mean.

I led you to the solution. Fix your brakes and then save up for a switch replacement. Do it right.

Do daily Google searches just for the light switch. Do it right. If you're persistent, you'll find one.

Any headlight switch will work from 1992 to 2000 Civics or 1997 to 2001 CRV. Plug and play. Stop ******* about and buy a replacement switch, there is no way to fix yours for it to work reliably. Like less than $20 at the junkyard. Thread closed because your problem has been solved.
