Default Big Loss of Power while Braking

Hey guys I've been having this problem for about a week now. Whenever I brake, my car's idle drops and will stall if I let it. So to prevent this I throw it in neutral as if it were a manual (which it isn't) and give it more gas while braking, it's accompanied by a hissing sound too. It's a 1989 Honda Accord Lx. I just try to keep her gettin me from point A to B tbh. Advice Appreciated.

Maybe you have a vacuum leak between the booster and engine.

I don't think I do although I'll be checking that again. Sunday I have a new brake booster coming in

Change the booster and do the vacuum line to the manifold while you're at it. One of those two is leaking.

Don't forget to adjust your pushrod correctly when you replace the booster.

I got the Chilton's manual for my car and will refer to any pushrod specs there, although I believe when I read it, it didn't say anything about the rod, as well as a couple youtube vids. But I'll check, thanks.

The chiltons manual WILL only give you some of the info required to work on your car. Spring for the factory manual, it will never steer you wrong.
