Default Alignment / Suspension / AXLE? Issues! Help.

So, I could build you an engine and tune it no problem, but I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to steering/suspension.

I have a 95 EH2 with a B18B1 swap. I've been experiencing serious inner tire wear on both sides up front, so bad that I've gone thru three pairs of tires in three months up front. My tires squeel BAD, especially when turning right, eventing at low speeds. This is accompanied by the occasional loud clunk when I brake hard. I think there may be a little clicking when turning but only when at full lock.

I'm sure some of it is alignment, but in order for me to get an alignment, I have to make sure everything else is good.

A week ago, I had to change tires and grabbed the passenger wheel and moved it about, at the time it appeared to be moving loosely within the compliance bushing, I was already about to do the JDM ITR 4x114.3 swap and figured now is a great time for new bushings and ball joints up front and to install a Teg sway bar.

I've been collecting parts. Have LCAs off a junk yard teg with swaybar, currently cleaning them up and pressing in new bushings. I have new swaybar end links, LCA bushing kit and shock mount bushings.

Steering seems fine, I have *zero* play in my steering wheel, the car drives almost dead straight and tie rods seem fine from what I've checked.

I went to change my oil last night and decided to give it another shake (again, on the passenger side, which is the worse side although tire wear is almost even on both sides, pass is worse but not much) and noticed this:

Seems my axle is moving in and out of the trans, now, is this because I have loose suspension stuff? Or is the axle supposed to be solid too?

Going to research the FSM some more but input is appreciated, thanks!

Your front alignment is toe out.

Not sure what you're talking about with the axle. I cannot see the transmission, so if the spline is sliding in and out, just pop it in so the C-clip catches.

You can see the entire axle moving side to side in the video, it's the transmission side that is loose, the whole axle and boot is moving in and out..

I was thinking the same but I wanted to check, maybe I need a new clip or something? I should be able to just pop it back in right? You would think me pushing on it would've done that..?

The axle is supposed to do that.

So it doesn't need to be reseated?

And if I fix my suspension using and stuff it should be nice and tight?

I have no idea if it needs to be popped back in. I can't see the transmission.

But the CV (the parts inside the boot) is supposed to compress like that.

Okay, well I'm sure once I have the knuckle off if it needs to be popped it I'll know.

My plans are:
- new ball joints (MAS parts, ordered today from rockauto)
- "new" knuckle, wheel hub etc from jdm itr (not required obv but I'm doing it, already have parts for front and rear)
- "new" lcas (from junk yard teg, w mount for swaybar on radius/compliance arm, cleaned up, new poly bushings)

- new energy suspension bushings for lca, shock mount and swaybar end link:

Front Control Arm Bushings - 16.3105
Front Shock Mount Bushings - 16.8102
Front End Links Set - 16.8104
Front Sway Bar Bushings 22mm - 16.5108

- then get an alignment!

Think I should be good? AFAIK the P.O. did CVs only a few years ago, will have to check my records.

PS. I'm only guessing my swaybar is 22mm, pretty sure it came off an LS or GS, definitely not Type R..?

You have new wheels for the new bolt pattern, right?

Nah, I was just gonna mount the old ones. I'm sure I could drill new holes in my steeled for the larger bolt pattern.

Or maybe I could use a 4x114.3 to 4x100 adapter plate.

I just know when I put JDM ITR parts on a Civic, I get more hoarspower right?

I could also do the wheel bypass trick and drive around on the brake rotors, massIve unsprung weight reduction!

....

But in all seriousness, yes. Are people on here really that bad??? I may be a bit of a suspension newb but I'm definitely not new to working on cars!

I have a nice set of rare-ish 15" red JDM S.S.R. Indy 500 wheels which kinda started this, got a wicked deal on them, really liked the look and almost passed on them because of the bolt pattern, however a 4 disc swap with upgraded brakes was already planned, so I figured I'd nab them and grab a 96spec ITR swap, I mean I already have a teg motor, might as well go full force Hackura Civtegra (Intevic?)!

I should make a sticker that says Hackura.. lol

Rim pic attached.

Also, control arm clean up & pain, left old bushings in for now, I will probably press them out tomorrow and press in any ES ones that need pressing..

You should not be allowed to work on a car if you believe you can drill out your wheels to 114.3.

You're going to kill someone.
