Default Burning through ignition control modules

I've been burning through ignition control modules like a fat kid eating candy. I burnt up my 5th module this weekend. I'm running an OBD1 converted H22A in my 5th gen circle track car. I can make about 2-3 laps before the CEL clicks on with code 15. I've replaced everything at least once ( ECU, Distributor (3rd one), plug wires, coil, and alternator. I'm running the factory spec NGK plugs. I've used aftermarket and OEM modules, they both burn up just as fast. My engine is completely stock, no mods. Any ideas?

As a side note, the knock sensor just started throwing a code the past few races and when I manually set my base timing, I have to retard the distributor all the way to get the timing set to the base setting. My timing belt is lined up correctly and isn't off a tooth.

Plug gap? Compression test? Those are the thoughts I have. plugs gapped too far will strain the system and cause failure. Likewise, blown rings or valve seals allowing oil into the cylinder will inhibit combustion, again causing more strain on parts.

It's gapped to factory specs. My compression test was 220-230 across the board. The plugs are dry and the engine has never smoked so I don't see it being the valves seals or a blown piston ring.

No, however I've checked between the ICM wire in the distributor and the prong that plugs into the ECU for continuity and it tests fine every time, so I don't see there being a short in the wire or at least not one that's showing up.
