I need help identifying a part that was removed a complete overhaul of the my 2005 Element Engine.

The part looks like a heat shield of some sort but it been apart for so long I can't seem to place the part. There is no part number on the part with the exception of "a". I have looked up and down the manual and still no luck.

 

It is the heat shield for the drive axle. Honda part no. 44517-S6M-A00.
