91 EF hatch Speedo issue
Alright guys i have 91 EF base model hatch, it has been converted to OBD1. Running a B18a1 and cable B16 trans non LSD, currently it has a electronic VSS and it is wired into the engine harness but i get zero reading on the cluster.
i know this much, my cluster is from a 88-89 bc previous owner re-pinned the plugs to work with 89 cluster, i recently bought a 91 EF SI cluster that i want back in the car and i am aware of having to re-pin the connectors back to stock, luckily they left the plugs intact with just one lone wire left in each connector that didnt get moved to the 89 cluster connector plugs.
Here is my question what/how can i get the electric VSS to read on a 91 EF cluster that is normally operated by a cable mechanical VSS?
any write ups or knowledge would be most helpful as this is my first dealing with a obdo car and cluster.

These speedometers are cable driven. This means that there is a physical connection at the back of the cluster where the cable connects and spins the internal mechanism. You cannot "wire" this to use an electronic VSS. Your only option is to use a modern cluster with an electronic speedo input, like a 94+ Integra cluster.
Check this page out, there's some good photos showing the back of the cluster.

Si cluster swap
Very simple, 3 wires coming out of VSS, Power, Ground, Signal
Power to switched 12v source
Ground to Chassis Ground
Signal to Gauge cluster
You also need to makes sure your cluster is wired to be sending the signal to the ecu.
