Default 94 civic cx steering wheel lock

So I recently picked up a 94 civic cx with very low miles and all original. How ever it was stolen once and taken on a joy ride. That being said the previous owner replaced the ignition, but the steering wheel does not lock when turned all the way to either side. Is there an easy way to fix this?

The wheel should lock at or near the straight-ahead position when you take the key out. This is done by a mechanical system right at the key cylinder. When the key is turned all the way counterclockwise to lock, a metal dog comes out of the cylinder assembly and engages the steering shaft in the column.

The steering wheel doesn't lock at all. I'm trying to figure out if there is an easy way to fix it.

It is a good bet it is broken and PO just replaced the lock cylinder and not the complete lock assembly and steering lock is part of lock assembly, #1... Honda Automotive Parts

You can get one at your local bone yard, PicknPull and install the ign. key cylinder from your car into it to maintain the same key.

A little tricky to remove as it is held in by two break head bolts, #3 so bring along a hacksaw blade and cut some slots into the top of bolt and use a standard screwdriver to remove then, then replace with new bolts 94

Right on the money. Pulled the cover off today and sure enough the ignition is zip tied up i dont even think they replaced the lock cylinder. Looks like they broke it to bypass the lock and pulled the cap off the end to start it. Thank you for the help. Ordered a new one tonight

Are you referring to the ignition? I just replaced that. And the steering wheel still does not lock. I already figured it out. They damaged the column where the lock engages.
