PIC REQUEST: oem honda vs Quaife or obx lsd
Does anyone happen to have side by side pics of DC2, DC5, FDxx Civic, etc vs OBX or Quaife? I know I've seen some previously and pretty sure I've even done some such shots but now can't find them and don't happen to have the two laying around the shop for comparison.
Specifically I need to see the differences in ring gear flange thicknesses, if any. Actual measurements would be even better if anyone has access to those.
Anyone?

Hey Bense I didn't know you were in the Charlotte area!
Trying to get an LSD fit into an AWD CRV trans and trying to figure out the best way to go. I have an OEM K20 LSD but if the ring gear flange is going to need to be machined down substantially then I think I'd rather go with a Quaife/OBX/etc style unit where the case halves don't meet at the ring gear flange. I'm worried about that 2 piece flange becoming a weak point if it has to be shaved down

Yeah I moved to Concord in 2010 and I love it here too
I actually hadn't seen that thread but no the trans I'm working on is a k series. If you remember any of my older posts I had been working on a b series awd driveline build for years but kept running into too many snags and constraints (some of which I just mentioned in that other thread). I discovered going to k would make life so much easier in the long run and end up being a way better overall finished product anyways.
