Windshield Wiper Stopped and Then Started Working Again?
1995 Honda Civic Hatchback VX.
I was driving home the other day in the rain. The wipers were working fine as usual. Towards the end of the night the rain lightened up a little and the wipers were struggling a little to glide across the window. I'm guessing because the blades were dry or something. The wipers slowed down to a not so normal speed (it was on the high speed setting at the time). Eventually, the wipers completely stopped in the middle of the windshield. I thought they got stuck, so I gave it a nudge. I was unsuccessful. When I got home I turned off the car and turned it back on several times. When I did that, the wipers came back to life.
I've owned the car for about a year now. I've never seen this happen. I don't think the motors are bad because they are working now. I also don't think it's a loose connection. This issue hasn't happened since that day.
Do these symptoms correlate to anything specific?
I'm very reluctant to go out and buy a replacement motor because of how expensive they are.

This isn't a tech thread. It's really an opinion poll. Do you want to be proactive to prevent a future problem or do you want to wait for the problem to recur?
I'm not 100% certain if my problem means the motor is failing or if it's something else in the wiring. I'd like an opinion on what people may think the cause is. I don't mind being proactive. I just noticed the motors themselves are extremely expensive.

I can start by having someone check the connections. I don't exactly know where that is, but a local shop should be able to do it.
I'm just used to mechanics telling me "If it's currently working, it's hard to find the problem."
Hopefully they can do better in troubleshooting my car.

How would I have done that, RonJ? I wasn't able to because it was in the middle of the night during a rainstorm and I was driving. The problem immediately went away when I turned the car off and turned it back on a couple times after I got home. There was no way to troubleshoot it because the wipers started working again so quickly.
