Default The dream build--builtnboostedcd

Hey all,
-Welcome to my build thread for my 1996 accord Lx. 5 speed manual had roughly 150K on the clock.. First off this is my first thread ever, and to top it off my first public build thread. I have personally built and modified vehicles in the past, but this build is the biggest build I have, and will be doing. Well at least on my scale. I welcome any pointers, ideas, info etc.. Keep in mind I'm on a budget, ie: imma stay away from shops as much as possible, except for tuning etc.. I'll be utilizing the forums marketplace given I can see through the scams. Also this vehicle is for right now my current daily driver, until I pick up another cheap honda haha.
-With all that out of the way I picked up this accord from a personal friend knowing it had some issues. It had a very slight knock sound after decelerating. Accompanied with some over heating issues. Figured I would pull the motor do the head gasket, water pump, timing belt, gaskets, check the bearings, crank etc.

-(Original motor was a f22b2 sorry for the time lapse.) In the end motor pulled and well I found metal in the oil.. With that glooming news I took the head into a buddy of mines shop to have him look at the head. It was 100% in 3 cylinders and 70% in the number 2 cylinder. So Definetely blew the gasket. Had the head rebuilt for relatively cheap. Brings me to the original picture I posted of a f22b1. Found this bad boy for 200 with the dizzy ecu etc. Hence why I stopped the motor rebuild on the bottom end and purchased this motor for cost reasons, and it allowed me to really be able to rebuild the bottom end with aftermarket parts. With the mindset of running a turbo on her. Everything's really coming together now .

-I am now only missing 1 part to this swap. The harness. Went to the junkyard next day, where I came upon a bigger issue. My car is a 96 obd2. I specifically asked the seller if the motor was obd2. He assured me it was. Upon checking out the motor I saw the crank positioning sensor and called it good. Never checked the dizzy or ecu out too much. But those 2 were obd1. Which is also illegal for smog purposes here in CA. So either I was bamboozled or that guy is really gonna mess someone's car up. Well my hopes were a tad bit down. Til I realized I had a rebuilt f22b2 head. No vtec but my harness would work since it was missing the vtec solenoid and then I could reuse my ecu. I would be doing it the right way and staying legal, for right now. Until I register it out of state haha. But for the time being she's gonna be registered here. So needless to say I did all the timing belt component maintenance. This is where I am currently at.

-I am deleting cruise control, power steering, AC etc as none of these extra amenities actually worked properly. Eventually down the line I will equip them back to the car in working order, but for right now I'm doing ok with out.. Hopefully she will be back on the street today is my main primary objective. The next steps will be to polish the valve cover and paint the manifold so it's not such an ugly rust color. I have also committed to purchasing a skunk 2 coilovers set from a member on here in the next few weeks. Excited to see where that will take me . Plans after that is to start piecing together my turbo kit. The reason I chose to piece it together is to buy decent parts from multiple different brands. Also the fact that I work for a pet transport company I travel from state to state constantly, so hopefully I'll be seeing some of you to make transactions. Also anyone interested in using a b2 head on a b1 block you would use the b2 timing belt. Between those belts it's a 1 tooth difference. The b2 engine having 113 teeth the b1 engine only have 112. I put in some research to find nothing specifically answering my question. So I found that the b1 and b2 blocks are 99% the same, except for a few small changes. I figured the gear on the crank would be the same. So the 1 tooth possibly was on the cam. Either way the timing belt went on extremely easy as did the balancing shaft belt. Till later tonight or tomorrow morning I will be hopefully posting with an update

Update-7/1/16
-She's Alive! She started up pretty good minus some vacuum leaks. No leaks no noises! I am now once again back on track to my turbo build. Bar some regular maintenance. Also a few appearance and rice-ish mods. The Ac/cruise control delete was fairly simple. Work on the power steering is a bit more tedious. Ten to one I'm guessing I'll have too cap of the lines somewhere.
-Been putting some thought into building the extra B2 bottom end I have.. Anyone have any pointers towards this?
