Default 98 CX Hatch converting to Si Rear Discs.

For a conversion thats supposed to be straightforward, everything I've read about it tells me otherwise.
About to pick up both RTAs for $120
Doesn't come with e-brake cables.
Not sure about the brake lines either.

Question is, what else SHOULD i get for everything to function properly?
From what i know: 99-00 Si ebrake cables and the lines. Prop valve seems to be "unnecessary, but useful" so im probably going to get it, but i need some help on where to get it. Is this it?

Any help is appreciated

Prop valve should be done as a precaution.

E brake cables from an EM1 are needed.

Rest of it is plug and play.

Rockauto should have all the necessary parts if your swap is missing them...or is from another chassis besides the EM1 (brake cables...maybe the prop valve).

You need the rubber hoses from an EM1 also. I think Integra ones may work. But from what I remember, the EM1 hoses fit better. Stainless steel braided is another option to rubber.

I would not re-use junkyard rubber hoses. Some jerk may have pinched them with pliers at some point to "save fluid"

Just wondering - have you read the thread https://honda-tech.com/forums/suspen...egras-3044628/ which is up in the Sticky section of this Suspension&Brake forum? If you haven't, then there is some info on converting to rear discs. - Jim

Read it back and forth. I always like to ask again just to be sure.

Most likely buying the cables new from Honda. Not sure about the prop valve or hoses yet.

Skip the prop valve.

Buy a set of stainless steel braided lines. It's like $100 for all four. I believe the rear two OEM will run you almost $60.

No need for prop valve in a CX as it already has a "40/40" distribution. Just need brake lines and 99-00 Si E-Brake cables. I've done it before with Integra cables and they work alright, but the correct way is the EM1 cables.

No need for prop valve, I've been running stock cx prop valve with Si rear disc for 5/6 years and no problems. You can use rear brake lines off eg with rear disc, pretty sure it's the same line.

Update for y'all. Just went with OEM Rubber Lines. Centric Plain Cryogenic Rotors (blank). Hawk HPS Pads. Brakes work great, stops fine.

my only concern is that the whole rotor is not being used... The pad doesnt reach all the way to the rotor hat. Could this be due to the pad design? Rotor design? I purchased everything for 99 Si.

Heres a pic

That's normal for the pad to leave some rotor untouched.

Good move. The aftermarket ones fit like **** and aren't much cheaper than ones from Majestic or whichever online dealership of your choice.
