Default New Integra Owner in North Jersey

Hey Guys and Gals,

So dare I say that I have purchased my first Honda product (motorcycles included, I always had Suzukis for some reason) just about a week ago. A bunch of my friends are NASA Honda Challenge junkies and have been around since practically day 1 of the series (two have Nat'l championships). I'm still amazed how quick you can make a 20 year old Honda chassis go with a set of slicks, suspenders, and some weight reduction.

This has been a short, but expensive road to where I'm at now. I guess I should have known I was doomed from the first day that I took my now sold 2014 WRX to NJMP for my first track day in October 2014. That divulged really quick to an unassuming street tire beast running an OTS stage 2+ (I hate that term) setup with STi Brembos that I used for a couple of events to outrun several Porsches and many M3's (driver mods were needed).

Come the first track day of the year I was already getting nervous about crashing the $30K car I DD'ed and was getting fed up with uber expensive brakes and tires. Low and behold I started parting the WRX shortly there after and started shopping HARD for an EG or Integra with no rust. The intention is to slowly (or it may happen quickly) build this into a H2 Honda Challenge car by no later then the end of the 2017 season. That's assuming I don't go murder my wallet and buy the turn-key HC2 car that just went up for sale in my region.

As luck had it, I found this "new-to-me" 97 Integra LS about a 1/2 hour away from my house. I talked to the seller about 30 minutes after he posted the car and if it all checked out, and the price is right, it sounded like the ONE. The next day I was on the way to look at it, and a few days later it was mine.

Car is originally a southern car that I don't think has ever seen a NJ winter. While there are some differences in paint (door is faded, front bumper, etc), the body is in very, very good shape. Beyond that, it is a very nice base for my future track/race plans. The car also came with some spare parts that I hope can find a good home for from this Forum as well.

I'm excited to get on the boards and start learning about the Honda world. Its a completely different world of driving this car compared to the WRX. Now for a few pics!

Tell me about it. Already swapped the driver side axle twice (boot on the original was torn, the first spare I borrowed was shot), gear and motor oil, and ECU. Grand total time of work (including beer breaks) was like 2 hours. Lol

Working on this thing so far = soup.
