Default 98 d16y8 in 99 civic

I spun in bearing in my 99 d16y8 so I bought a 98 d16y8 parts car and took the motor, tranny, engine harness and ecu and put it in my car but when I went to start it there was no fuel or spark and there was 1 left over connecter and there was no spot for it on the ecu. I'm wondering what am I doing wrong?

You need to use your engine harness to make it work. I forget what else. maybe your injectors but Im not too sure.

I believe 96-98 was obd2a and 99-00 was obd2b so you most likely need a conversion harness
