Default Spark Plug Wire wont come off!

So I was changing my spark plugs I have 5 of them done, but the one in the back closest to the drivers side is giving me a hell of a time. I know why its being a pain in the *** because I had the same issue with the other 2 in the back. Basically, there is a rubber seal inside the spark plug wire that is so tight around the spark plug it ends up folding inside out by the time I get it off. I ripped that damn seal off the two back wires I did get off so I hopefully wont have that problem again, but the one closest to the drivers side wont budge for anything. I ended up pulling off the top of the wire, the part that you are suppose to pull on and that came up and out with the wire still attached to the plug. I tried a pair of pliers to get the plug out the rest of the way, but the damn thing is plastic inside the cylinder so it broke apart. I did try the twist and pull method, thats how I always do wire removal, but this damn rubber lip is whats holding onto the wire and not allowing it to budge at all. Anybody else have this problem on a v6 honda accord using bosh wires? Amazingly my 3 front plugs didnt have this issue at all, go figure.

Did you smear your new rubber boots with vaseline like lubricant (sold in small packages at auto stores) when installed. I have always done that and have never had issue of my boots not coming off when I needed them to. That said other factores may also play a role causing it being sticky.

Dielectric grease liberally applied to the inside of the plug boots is the best for installing new plug wires.

That being said, soak the insides of the boots down with WD40 or any other penetrating fluid, let it soak in for a few minutes then give her a good yank.

I eventually got it out. What I did was buy a pair of spark plug pliers and gripped the top and yanked as hard as I could. Once it let go and came out the plastic pretty much exploded everywhere I guess because I was gripping it really hard. So I ended up buying new spark plug wires off RockAuto and in the mean time I am using my old original wires as spares. At least I have the right type of spark plug in my car. NGK standard plugs and the car seems to like them.

I usually use long needle nose pliers for situations like this. It's never fun.
