I'm new and want to say to everyone: HI !

I will post a few useful experiences in what I have done in my car / starter ,oil pan, rack & pinion, oil pump, transmission / So you guys can throw me questions,and I will share what I have,hoping is will help. Now I have to replace the engine mounts - in order. I found information / suggestions / on the web, how to lift the engine to replace the mounts.They say; you need to jack up at the oil pan using a 6-8 inch long 2x6 between the jack and the pan to not to spot damage at the surface. This is clear.But! Is this enough? I do not need to bridge the wood between the pan and the cradle? I'm afraid only the oil pan is not strong enough.

I appreciate any info.
