Default 1998 CRV 5 speed AWD squealing issue, trans?

My 1998 CRV, 5 speed AWD, is making some crazy squealing/squeaking noises only when in gear and driving, and sometimes it gets stuck in reverse and won't pop out unless I rev the engine a few times first. I had a mechanic drive it and he said it could be a bad bearing inside the trans or maybe the transfer case.

Does anyone have any advice on this? Heard of it happening before? This is the second trans, the original locked up from a leak I didn't know was happening. Thanks!

Mine is making the same noise and I was told the Throw out bearing is worn on the clutch. Just ordered a new clutch kit and flywheel. This should fix the problem.
