I want to convince myself to invest into silicone radiator hoses. But what is the benefit compare to stock ones? To me it's just better looking...

 

higher max temperature, more durable, more resistant to chemicals and corrosive material. less prone to puncture. and yes. they look cool and are available in many colors

I've never had them or saw a need to get them, even with track duty. Has a few benefits, but not a necessary purchase IMO

 

The benefit of feeling baller for shelling out $$$ for fancy hoses.
... or feeling pathetic because it's the only mod you have.

It's a little peace of mind, but a lot of "look at me". Not that there's anything wrong with that, honestly. It would suck if everyone did the same thing all the time.
