Default Innovative traction bar install help

Just got a used innovative traction bar in on my 90 crx and there's a tiny gap where i feel like there shouldn't be a gap. It's where the spherical bearing meets the tubular bar. Check out the pics VV

Driver side:

Passenger side:

Also, i've tried tightening that bolt, but it didn't really do much and i don't want to over torque it.

Thanks for the help!

I just drove it over to the alignment shop (they were closed) and on the way there, i noticed a "thunking" sound. Only from when i accelerate from a stop, or come to a hard full stop. It doesn't sound really loud, but something only heard after installing the bar.

I've also noticed that the front tubular bar was hitting both bottom radiator mounts or whatever it's called. Has anyone else delt with this issue? Is is something i need to worry about? Maybe thats the sound i'm hearing..

the mounting brackets could have either been slightly bent out of shape if it's a second hand part, but then again it could be a manufacturing fault. without hearing the sound it's hard to say, a lot of traction bars are known to make some creaking or knocking noises

I don't recall what it looked like on mine. Could have been the same. Email Innovative

The thing either wasn't put in the jig right or the tabs got bent out.

It should be flush all the way around.

My thoughts on it right there. Spacing was a tad bit much, when the bolt tightened it pinched and bent the tabs a little causing that gap. You could try to add a washer to space it back out and apply the load evenly if it bugs you that much but I doubt you'll notice any difference.

Thank you guys for the replies! I took everything apart again last night and took a look at everything to see if anything wasn't straight. Even the bolt that fastens the radius rod to the tubular bar and everything looked straight in my eyes. Those tabs probably are bent a bit.

It doesn't bug me that much, but if it affects my safety, then I am concerned. Do you think there is any chance of anything breaking? I take turns pretty hard and I don't want the thing up to snap on me.

Also,
I've torqued the 4 crossmember bolts to 50ft-lbs (I've read different torque specs, but can't find factory spec) and the 4 bolts that fasten the radius rod to the LCA to 40ft-lbs and I don't hear that "thunking" noise anymore.
