Default 98 manual CRV transmission questions

I am going to be replacing my input shaft bearing in my CRV trans and I was wondering if its the same process as other D and B series transmissions? I have changed out a couple D series and one GSR bearing, im just afraid of skipping steps. I assume it isnt because of the cable shifting mechanism located on top of the trans vs being rods underneath. I plan on breaking it open tonight so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Same process as a B because it is a B.

Thanks for the reply. I have the transmission off and i had to remove the shifter mech on the top and also the reverse selector, i beleive thats what its called. Now when I split it it should look like the inside of a bseries for the most part. Glad it wasnt too much different but Ive learned that if youre over confident sometimes you dont pay close enough attention to detail. Ill get back to the post as soon as I successfully seal the trans back up and see that everything shifts smoothly, hopefully in the next couple nights

You couldn't be more wrong. The only thing that is the same as a B-series is the input shaft splines. Technically it is not even the same as a H-series, more like a Euro R, but even then there are some bearing differences. The SBXM is pretty much in a world of its own.

There are PLENTY of threads covering this.

UPDATE : I was a little disappointed that I bought a new clutch when I seen how much life this clutch still had but then I looked and seen that one of the springs are missing!!! How does that even happen!! It almost looks like it was cut out with...I don't even know, a saws all? Anyways that made me happy with my decision. Also I would like to add that the bell housing will not come free from the clutch housing. I've removed all the appropriate bolts, separated the snap ring and pryed it evenly from both sides. I've done this three other times on D and B transmissions so I don't know what gives. Anyways I'll upload some pictures of the reverse selector and stuff to show some differences between other b series transmission.

Got it apart, it was my fault. I didn't unbolt the one 12mm inside the clutch housing near the input shaft. Will be sealing the transmission back up! Thanks for all the input...
