Default Something's wrong w/ C-Mugen R

I was driving to school this morning and wanted to hit VTEC, however, I was in first and when the needle points to 7000rpm it felt like it was being limited. It lacked for a moment and then go pass 7000rpm.

I shut off the car for a while and tried again, this time, 1st is no problem and same problem occurs when I'm in 2nd. Not 7000rpm exactly, but while in VTEC, the car will lack for a moment...feels like a rev limited if you know what i mean.

What could be wrong? The idle is fine and engine is running fine overall....what could be wrong? I have close to full tank of gas too.

Thx.

Did you check the oil level? Wash the engine bay lately?

yes its warmed up....it has VTEC, but sometimes its fine and sometimes it'll lack for a bit...like it'll stop between 6000 - 8000rpm feels the same as hitting the rev limiter for a moment and then go on.

When is the last time you changed the cap and rotor?

How often do you change your plugs?

Cap and rotor meaning the distributor cap and rotor.

Those aren't new plugs.

My guess would be oil level or your sparkplugs

It sounds ignition related.

Why not take this opportunity to replace your cap, rotor, and plugs to see if that alleviates the problem?

Are you using a stock ECU? or a Chipped P28?

I had a problem similar when the limiter went back to 7000, when it was suppose to be no relimiter...lol maybe im wrong but i just thought it may have been a faulty ecu....
