I bought a 94 accord awhile back and it ran fine till now. It'll start then die. I put a coil on it from another car I had and it didn't work. So I took the distributor cap off and there's no ignition Coil the distributor. It's a vtec motor but not a vtec car. I'm pretty confused as to what's going on. Any help would be good thanks

 

The picture you posted is of an external coil. If that is what was running your car, there would be no need for a coil inside the distributor. Without knowing about the possible swap and or how it was done. We cannot tell what parts were used.

Have you tried testing the coil, igniter (ignition control module) and distributor wiring?

Have you verified that the issue is spark, and not a fuel issue?

 

Starting and then shutting down sounds more like a fuel issue, check fuel pressure. 94
