Hey so i have a 2000 Honda Cr-V lx Automatic,fwd-2wd. currently sits a 164,XXX clean engine and transmission. I Pulled up Code0730 "Faulty Shift Control System". So i checked the oil, flushed it 3times, checked the solenoids, last but not least, the ECU.
I have a 37820-PHK-A63 ECM, ECU, TCM, The Computer.....The Brains. and 2 resistors on the motherboard fried. I see some on ebay for $100 and others for $500. strapped for cash, is it a deal if the ebay has a return policy and try my luck. OR Buy the expensive one and not have to worry?
Hey there. Welcome. It's hard to say but if it was me and I was strapped for cash id probably go with the one I can afford since it has a return policy. Ask for more pictures and confirm that it does in fact have the return policy. Also before you make the purchase find out what caused the computer to be fried in the first place. I'd hate for you to spend $100 install the new part only for it to also go pop. Check all fuses and harness wiring, make sure you don't have a bare wire grounding things out and causing the problem in the first place. Hope that helps sorry can't help with more.
if this helps, their was oil in one of the housings when i checked it. but for the love of god couldnt find an oil leak anywhere near the ecu. almost like it was directly poured on it. but i cleaned up them all and will purchase the ebay and see what happens
