JDM without A/C?
Has anyone ever seen one that has been spec'd from factory by the first owner, without A/C?
They place I know they exist is in the Best Motoring review videos of the very first cars. Also in the original JDM brochures for both early 96 cars and later spec models.

FWIW TB I've seen a fair few JDM's locally to me down the years and the only AC free ones I've personally seen were 96/7 spec and they were rare in the mix. I myself never saw a 98 Spec through to the last of the R-x's that had the AC an option delete. Ditto for the Japanese auctions I was following for about 8 months.
The other general trend I noticed was the early 96/7 cars were more likely to be "stripped down" with more option deletes going on, down to no parcel shelf, whereas from 98 Spec on folks seemed more likely to go for all the trimmings. The one I ended up getting (98 Spec, first registered in Japan the last week in 99) was unusual enough in having no ABS, airbags, no third brake light, parcel shelf, radio, but it does have AC. The 98 spec JDM catalogue pics of the dashboard show a blank button where AC would be.
I get the impression that AC was almost a given as an option for Japanese folks. I have a copy of an original Japanese Honda dealer Integra price list from 1998 and going from memory the AC was pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things so maybe with their hot summers? In my neck of the woods a coal burning stove would be the big seller.
Actually I must dig those price lists up and upload some pics as they might prove interesting to folks hereabouts? I do remember that the R spoiler was cheaper an accessory than the SiR one. The integrated brake light most likely. Type R mats were the cheaper too and the R titanium gear **** was only marginally more expensive than the faux leather SiR one(less than a tenner in the difference).

OK these are very rough and ready pics I took, big enough pics but reduced from original. If these are still too big please let me know.
Pricelist and options list for Integra, R on the lower left hand side.

Honda Access stuff for the Integra.

No doubt somebody who can read Japanese is around to break things down for us. Interesting how secondhand prices have changed from original because of rarity these days.

Cheers, ****.
Interesting about the parcel shelf, I wonder if that was a delete option or owners just take them off? They are heavier than you might think. Speaking of which, so are JDM Type R mats, my set weighed in at 4kg.
Anyone know if mats were an option for the JDM Type R's?
My '96 Spec came with no ABS, SRS but did come with radio, Gathers 6 disc changer & A/C. I've sinced removed all the A/C & radio, including the aerial & fitted the OEM blank. Also got a double din blank plate for a Non Type R(On the lookout for a 'carbon' Type R one).
I'm also on the lookout for a '96 Spec A/C blank switch. I have one from a UK car but it's a slightly different colour. With me being so an*l about things, I have to find one for my model of Integra. I've put the '96 Spec A/C switch back in-place, for now.

What does kinda fascinate me about our cars is how diverse they were across markets and even within markets. Especially given they were a small enough production run, loss leading "special". The EU/E/UK examples are fairly consistent, but quite different from each other in detail, but it's hard enough to get two JDM's with the same spec from the showroom and then you have the Aus and NZ ones and then the Canadian examples with red rear seats, even though they had a tiny production run. The oddest thing about mine other than the eejit behind the wheel, is it has a boot/trunk light that isn't connected, nor can be as the loom is different. Even has a bulb.

I love the attention to detail Sir. Kudos. Does yours have the third brake light? Mine doesn't, nor the blanking plugs. Just a one piece rear glass. I've never seen the carbon double din in the flesh. I wonder and a long shot I grant you… might Honda still have them in stock? I can't see them being a too popular an item as most would have fitted radios from new. Finding out the part number might be an issue, though there's the chap on the UK R forum who has access to all the numbers and remaining parts, in the UK anyway. He might be the very boyo to ask.
I've already tried Honda & had no joy. Part number is easy to get hold of, can check on Lings or JP-Parts.
Thanks! What is his username!? Do you mean ITR-DC2 Forums?
More importantly, ****, when are you going to start a thread for this little beaut? I'm positive I'm not the only one who'd like to see.
**** if you get this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ranslate&hl=en it does an OK job of translating from a photo. I used it a bit with some brochures.
Third brake light was an option (forth option on that price list I posted above). The carbon double DINs were still available a few years ago (I got one) but look to be discontinued now unfortunately.
